Stage 2 Groundbreaking Ceremony was held on May 13th, 2016
We went on faith that the dream would be a reality. #DoGood @LCIStayPlay
Stay and Play Recreational Area was born from a dream of providing a place for ALL students to play, but more specifically those with special needs. This special recreational area is being built one fully-funded stage at a time by grants and community support. (Learn how you can be a part of the dream- we are currently on Stage 3!)
Little Cypress Intermediate would not have had this opportunity if we not received our original Lowe's Toolbox for Education Grant. Being awarded this grant allowed the perimeter to be secured, leveled, and donations of dirt provided a prime foundation for the first groundbreaking for Stage 1 on this worthy project and the fence to be built. It's awesome to see a dream becoming a reality!
On May 13, 2016, LCI celebrated a new milestone in this project- Groundbreaking for Stage 2! The student body assembled, our 5th Grade Choir sang, we acknowledged and thanked our Stakeholders and other Friends of Stay and Play who drove from Houston and the surrounding Golden Triangle, and then we broke ground our next phase! One theme interwoven in Stay and Play is diversity and our Ground Breaking Ceremony was no different. Each special friend was given a shovel to dig with. The shovels were of various shapes, sizes, and ages- as unique and diverse as our friends that used them!
